Whatever your reason for wanting to build your online business it is apparent that you are reading this for a reason.
I told you that we are ramping us the activity so all our businesses will end on a high for 2015. This in turn will lead us nicely into 2016 on the runway taxiing and ready for take-off.
We have been having wake-up calls daily Mon-Fri till the end of the year. Now on one of the calls JJ was talking about taking radical responsibility for our choices made in our lives.
Now this can be difficult to do but in order to move forward we needed to do this. Once we take ownership of our choices we have made we can truly be happy.
But you know as humans we need to blame somebody getting the spotlight off us. I use to blame my boss, the company I worked for, my peers, the government, the weather, the climate change etc, etc.!
Now while these were all factors in my life and probably yours too, they are not the reason I or you are where we are in life now.
For things to change we have to change (spotlight back on you and me!)
So I started taking personal responsibility to make the changes needed in life for me to be happy.
After all it was me who went into corporate life. It was me who choose my friends; I made the decision to live where I lived. It was me who made the financial decision which lead me to lose my home. It was me who signed the agreement papers no one held a gun to my head. It was me who decided to start my first business which ceased trading after 5 years. It was me who decided to cease trading.
It was all me and as a result I had to live with the consequences and that I did.
Take full responsibility for your choices – accept them to move forward? cont………….
I first heard about personal radical responsibility through JJ on the wake-up calls when he mentioned
Arron Ralston, a survivor and how he amputated his arm to get free from the rock which had trapped him. Arron had a lot of time to think about his choices when he was trapped and he came to the realisation that he had chosen to there. He didn’t leave a note for anybody to know where he was (his choice) and he made a choice to carry on alone rather than to go with the two women who offered. Now like Arron, I didn’t subconsciously want to lose my home, confidence, and my friends.
Arron certainly didn’t want to lose his arm but he did! Again it was his choice. A very good one as it saved his life.
Do you feel like you have an 800lb boulder trapping you because if you do then there is a way out?
The bad news is it may hurt a little.
1st part is to face your past and to take personal radical responsibility for where you are today.
Blaming other people for ourselves when the results don’t show up. It takes real courage to look in the mirror and own everything. It takes real courage to examine our role for our lives today and stop playing the blame game
Take responsibility for YOU. You are not a victim of anyone or anything. It’s the 1st step and recognise solutions. When we stop the blame game our creativity kicks in.
Arron commented to himself after he amputated his arm, “why didn’t I do that on the Monday rather than to put myself through 6 days of agony?”
For some of us we may have to amputate something, our belief system, I’m too young, I’m too old, I uneducated, I am too smart or not smart enough.
For many of us it is the victim mentality we have to amputate. So let’s do it immediately.
Owning the good, the bad and the ugly is the 1st step of getting past it!
